Create YOUR Best Year With Clara!
Soul Story Ambassador Clara Angelina Diaz hosted a beautiful meditative book signing this past weekend at SheBreathes Balance & Wellness studio (my favorite place). https://shebreathesbalance.com).
It's funny how you can make a real friend in minutes if you just get the the real stuff right away. That's what Clara and I did a few weeks back and I truly consider her a good friend whom I admire very much. Her calming, healing, positive energy is magnetic.
I was so happy to be there for her event this week to witness how she brings women of all backgrounds together to thoughtfully question themselves and the way they are showing up in this world. It was a beautiful few hours of meditation, connection and reflection.
Her book, Create Your Best Year One Day At A Time was thought provoking, inspirational and full of practical action steps we can all take to live our best lives one day at a time.
Clara is a BEAUTIFUL person doing beautiful things in this world. Please join me in supporting her well deserved success!

Love this pic of Ashley being the boss lady/ leader she is welcoming a new class of incoming students for Year Up where she does such important work. She will support these students during their learning and development phase that will ultimately lead to meaningful job placement at some great companies down the line. Great work Ashley so proud you're part of our Soul Tribe!
Soul Story Ambassador Morgan: A success story on a mission with NamaStay Sober
I knew of Morgan in college. From what I gathered from the outside she was a super outgoing, popular, beautiful "life of the party" type. We were both journalism majors and I would see her in passing to classes. I'm pretty sure we never spoke though. Ten'ish years later social media (at it's best) allowed me to connect with her and really learn about who she is. The Morgan that I now know is such a bright light. She is kind and compassionate and humble. I loved learning of her journey and am so excited to call her my new friend.
Morgan was the very first member of NamaStay Sober where she is now the Director of Memberships. NamaStay Sober is a Massachusetts-based charity whose mission is to aid those recovering from addiction by reconnecting their bodies and minds through complimentary yoga & fitness memberships, a practice of self awareness and a loving community. By becoming a member at a local yoga studio or boxing gym, participants are given access to create a new, healthy lifestyle alongside their peers.
I LOVE this mission. If you know of anyone 3 months -3 years sober please share this with them! What an amazing opportunity and mission.

Soul Story Ambassador Linda Monaco: Super mom of 3 inspires others by living a vibrant life with Multiple Sclerosis
At the tail end of photographing a conference last March I sat down to dinner with a table of strangers as I typically would at any event of that kind; only this time was different. I happened to sit next to most beautiful, vibrant, warm soul that was Linda Monaco. Within minutes we were chatting about our toddlers, similar taste in home decor and about her personal experience with MS. We just clicked. I felt like we were old friends from a past life or something. You know that feeling? Anyway, we made sure to exchange contact info before I left and we became facebook friends the next day.
When I launched The Soul Project Linda popped right into my mind as a woman I wanted the world to see and celebrate. She faced her diagnosis head on with bravery, positivity and even humor. I learned that MS is not necessarily something that people wear blatantly; many with MS walk around with very few visible symptoms yet they deal with a whole lot behind the scenes from ongoing treatments to debilitating relapses and the unsettling feeling of not knowing what the future may hold. Linda's ability to deal with all of this while maintaining such a positive view of the world is truly inspirational. If you have not read her Soul Story yet, GO NOW - you'll be a better person for learning a bit about her approach to life. And if you have already read and been inspired by Linda then please support her by supporting a cause that is critical to helping her live her best life.
The Soul Project has started a fundraiser to make it easy for those moved my Linda's story to get involved. The money raised will help fund amazing progress in MS research, as well as programs and services that ensure people affected by MS can live their best lives.

Ashley's good work at Year Up
Ashley and I went to high school together. We were always friendly acquaintances but never super close. I have "known" Ashley for over 15 years but not until we connected over The Soul Project did we have a conversation deeper than small talk. I'm so glad I got to know a little bit about who she really is. I'm so grateful for this project for allowing me to learn about some of the amazing people that I've "known" for years. I also love learning about the great things some of these people are doing in the community and about the impactful organizations they are involved with.
I'm excited to support Ashley going forward in any way that I can but want to start by sharing a bit about the inspirational work she does for young people. As the Director of Academics at Year Up, a non-profit organization that aims to close the opportunity divide for urban youth, Ashley helps young adults ages 18-24 get job training, hands on and professional skills development and corporate internships that will help them enter the workplace with confidence. The ultimate goal is for these internships with local partner companies to turn into paid job opportunities that are long lasting.
I love everything about this organization and what Ashley is putting her efforts into each day.

Soul Story Ambassador Nikki Bell: Survivor of prostitution is now the CEO of Living In Freedom Together
Nikki and I grew up in the same town and I knew her as a girl that used to play softball with my older sister. Over the past few years I have followed her journey of recovery on social media from a distance. Though I haven't actually seen her in years I've been drawn to her ability to be so vulnerable about her intense struggles. Last week I met with her to learn more about her story for The Soul Project and was blown away by how much she's overcome and by her relentless drive to help others. She's been through more than most of us could imagine but she's a warrior; a kind, generous, resilient, intelligent warrior.
Since escaping the grips of prostitution and becoming clean of substances she founded LIFT (Living In Freedom Together). Her non-profit organization has helped hundreds of women find the support needed to escape "the life" and start a healthier one that they can be proud of. She's in the process of opening up Jana's Place. A recovery home for prostituted women. Jana's Place will provide shelter, support and job training for women ready to start anew.
I admit to knowing very little about prostitution. I admit to having judgmental thoughts about the women who would end up in that life. It's uncomfortable, unsettling - even sickening for me to even think about what those women face. Honestly, It's easier just not to think about it at all. But in learning the facts and talking with Nikki I now feel like it's my cause too, my responsibility as a woman, as a human. I am going to support Nikki in her mission to help these women live lives they can be proud of and your support is needed too! Whether it be having more real conversations about what is really going on, spreading the word, reaching out to offer your time or donating financially to LIFT, I hope we can all give Nikki and her incredibly important organization lots of support!! Please take a moment to read some real facts about prostitution (below). These horrors are going on in our own backyards. Please join me in donating to LIFT. Strong women support other women! Let's support Nikki and her amazing fight against this cruel reality that so many women are living in.

There is a wealth of misconceptions around women in the sex industry, the most common being that what is sometimes called “the Life” is a choice. But it is not that simple.
